Poster
The Regatta
A Belle Époque-style poster for a seaside regatta — sails, striped flags and a boatload of spectators straining for the finish.
About this piece
The Regatta was created for a coastal sailing club’s centenary, in the manner of the great French affichistes. The brief asked for joy rather than accuracy: twenty boats where the harbor holds six, and every spectator leaning the same way. Poster and event work is a standing offer of the studio — ask about centenaries, festivals and fairs.
How it was made
Thumbnail compositions in pencil, a full-size ink cartoon, then flat color built like a screen print: sea first, boats second, lettering last and by hand.
