Peacock Pattern
Stylized peacocks folded into a repeating textile pattern — decoration that began as natural history and ended as ornament.
About this piece
Peacock Pattern was designed as a furnishing-fabric repeat for a boutique hotel project, drawn from the studio’s bird sketchbooks and abstracted panel by panel. The border of fish and weed below the main field shows how one motif can serve two rhythms. Pattern work is available for licensing to textile and wallpaper studios.
How it was made
Bird studies reduced to flat shapes in gouache, then a half-drop repeat worked out on tracing paper. Pochoir stencils keep the edition colors perfectly flat.
